Rolls Royce Brings the 624HP Wraith Coupe Out in the Open

This is the all-new Wraith, Rolls Royces luxurious interpretation of a performance coupe. Revealed just hours before it makes its first appearance in front of a crowd at the Geneva Motor Show on March 5, the Wraith is dubbed as the most powerful and fastest production car ever built by Rolls Royce.

What Rolls Royce considers performance and what the rest of the world considers performance, are two very different things, as proved by the Wraiths heavy underpinnings sourced from the Ghost limo and the fact that the British company highlights (pun intended) the cars Starlight Headliner featuring 1,340 fibre optic lamps that "give the impression of a glittering, starry night sky"…

Even so, the Wraith is no slouch, with its tuned 6.6-liter twin-turbod V12 engine delivering 624hp (633PS) and a peak torque of 800Nm (590 lb-ft) for a 0-60mph sprint in 4.4 seconds (0-100km/h in 4.2 seconds), compared with 563hp and 0-60mph in 4.7 seconds for the Ghost sedan. Rolls-Royce did not disclose the Wraiths top speed. The V12 engine is paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission from ZF driving the rear wheels.

Rolls Royce says it has re-tuned the suspension to "minimize body roll and discreetly amplify feedback when cornering; while steering weight is heavier at high speeds and lighter at low speeds adding to the spirited drive".

The fastback-style coupe is 5,269 mm / 17 ft.3 long, 1,947 mm / 6 ft 5 wide and 1,507 mm / 4 ft 11, while it rides on a 3,112 mm / 10 ft 2 wheelbase, making it 130mm (5.1 inches) shorter in overall length than the Ghost sedan. The Wraith has a curb weight of 2,360 kg / 5,203 pounds.

Inside, you will find a familiar dashboard from the Ghost, the aforementioned "Starlight Headliner" and more wood veneer than a Victorian house.

A new tech feature that makes its debut in the Wraith is the Satellite Aided Transmission (SAT) that relies on GPS data and driving style to select the most appropriate gear for the terrain ahead.

Rolls-Royce said sales of the four-seater model will begin in the final quarter of 2013, with European pricing to start from around €245,000 (US$320,000) – evidently, pricing will differ from country to country.

Audi A3 a top class car

The all new Audi A3 is here to steal the show.  Smart build, excellent engineering and safety features make it one of the best made small cars. However, the 2013 A3 is only available in Europe until early next year. The three new engines that include a more powerful diesel are offered in two styles- two and four door hatchbacks, a saloon and a convertible.

As soon as the car was launched, it received an impressive amount of acclaim from critics and reviewers and the sales have exceeded expectations. It is a less expensive  alternative to a regular luxury car and an extremely fuel-efficient to hybrids.

The German flavour of Audi is intact with engineering excellence and an upscale cabin. The A3 is a satisfying vehicle to drive. The cabin’s designs has set the standard for the industry – all the mechanisms moves with precision, fits tightly and feels top class. In the Audi A3 TDI, the power is directed to the front wheels through a dual clutch transmission that allows either automatic or manual shifting. It utilizes a 2.0litre in line four cylinder diesel engines that produces 140 horsepower and 236 pounds feet/torque. An intercooler and turbo charger helps in cleaner emissions and better accelerations.

The exterior is a masterpiece of tailored sophistication. The body work is beautiful, sleek, stunning and modern. The single frame grille speaks more of the trademark class that Audi emanates. The impact of the grille has been softened by the compound curves in the bonnet. The taillights accentuate the broad expanse of the car. It is an aggressive nose but it does not dominate the designs. Your eyes will automatically draw to the shoulder line.

The overall look is mighty impressive. The leather upholstered interior is a great specimen of fine taste and class- certainly roomy for a four-door hatchback. The front sports seats are tight where they need to be and pleasantly comfortable. The fully adjustable steering column produces an excellent driving position for people of all sizes. The compartment at the bottom of the centre stack has two levels.  The rear seats are also quite comfortable with adequate head and leg room. Fold the split rear seatbacks and there is a 19.5 cubic feet cargo area.
The seats flip down easily for more cargo space- even if you don’t get a flat cargo floor; there is an accessory roof rack available for added cargo. Mileage is good – it could do an impressive 43.7miles /gallon and can accelerate from 0-60mph in 6.7 seconds; the torque is ever ready. When it comes to handling and ride quality, it is again excellent. The good and firm suspension allows quick turns and a highly responsive feel. However you would feel the bumps on the roads and some road noise as well. The climate control, Bose RDS Audi system with AM/FM, six disc remote changer with 10 speakers, and remote control on the leather-covered steering wheel adds to the charm.

If you are an admirer of the class and reliability that the brand Audi exudes, A3 is going to make you more than happy.

2011 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Specifications prices Modifications and Image 2011 Suzuki Grand Vitara
In every crowd, there are always a few individuals who stand out while the rest tend to blend into the background. Unfortunately for Suzuki, the 2011 Grand Vitara is one of the latter. Thats not to say that theres anything dramatically wrong with this compact SUV. Its just that the Grand Vitara tends to be overshadowed by its more high-profile competitors and doesnt offer enough compelling reasons for us to recommend it.

On the upside, the 2011 Suzuki Grand Vitara comes with a long list of standard features that youd normally expect to pay extra for, such as automatic climate control and a navigation system. An attractive price, a 7-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty and an available four-wheel-drive system with a low-range transfer case -- a rarity in this segment -- are other notable pluses.

Other than these distinctions, however, the Grand Vitara is simply outclassed by compact crossovers like the Chevrolet Equinox and Honda CR-V. For not that much more money, the Equinox offers a more practical interior and an available V6 engine, while the CR-V delivers a higher level of refinement.

There are also other top small crossovers to consider, such as the Kia Sportage, Subaru Forester and Toyota RAV4. Realistically, all of the above will likely provide a more satisfying ownership experience. But for buyers who are focused on value or looking for a compact crossover SUV with a higher level of four-wheel-drive capability, this Suzuki is worth a look.

INTERIOR
The 2009 Suzuki Grand Vitara cabin puts to rest any notion that small equals penalty box. There is nothing ground-breaking in style or features but the logic and execution are first-rate, the materials fully appropriate and cheap to neither eye nor touch.

Its as easy to get in and out of the Grand Vitara as it is with most big cars and many drivers will appreciate that they can almost slide in rather than sit down and later have to climb out. Seats are nicely shaped to allow freedom of movement and supportive enough to empty the fuel tank. While appearance and materials vary by model, the entry-level model offers the same layout, usability, and safety features of the top-line model. Interior materials are upgraded as the price increases, and the Limited comes with leather seats. Regardless of fabric, the center and door armrests are nicely padded.

A three-spoke tilt wheel offers illuminated redundant controls on all but the base model and frames the three-pod instruments; tachometer, speed, and temperature/fuel/gear display on every model. Often-used operating controls are stalk mounted and easy to use. The shifter, gated on automatics, and handbrake are both well-placed.

Outboard dash vents are omni-directional, with conventional horizontal vents at the top of the central dash area. The audio system and climate control run down the panel, and the only potential issue is display visibility with polarized sunglasses. Door pockets, center console storage and a smaller one overhead, glovebox, and smaller bins handle miscellany.

Rear-seat passengers will find more than adequate leg and headroom, even with a sunroof, although some car-based truck-lets have a bit more room. Sheer width dictates that three-across should be youngsters or petite people but the fairly flat cushion and three full-size headrests equalize comfort among them. The rear seat splits with the narrow side behind the driver, and both sides recline independently.

The cargo load floor is not very high thanks to the rear suspension and with the tire outside there is a sizable open bin underneath it. Volume is decent given the compact exterior dimensions and shaped more upright than laid out flat. Various nets and clips help secure items, and the rear seats fold easily to increase volume by a factor of 2.8.

The back door swings open to the right, so you will have to step around it when loading and unloading curbside at the airport or in the big city. (This is in deference to the more crowded Japanese home market.) However, you will never scrape it on a low ceiling as you might a hatch nor have to jump up to reach the pull strap. Adding a piece of non-skid material, clear cover, or scuff plate to the top of the bumper would protect the paint from loading scars.

EXTERIOR
Since its a compact SUV, the Suzuki Grand Vitara isnt all that grand in scale, but its more space efficient than a lot of utility and crossover vehicles. Short overhangs, fairly straight and vertical sides and cargo door, and excellent outward visibility designed for trail use are equally welcome in urban environs.

Head-on, the Grand Vitaras styling is reminiscent of a Saab, with horizontal headlamp elements that appear inset and protected, clean lines and a wraparound clamshell hood that has no bodywork seams on top where they could be seen by occupants. The line that forms the hood opening sweeps upward and carries all the way to the back door, creating a smooth character line.

Although the top window line slopes downward in opposition to the character line, neither is aggressive and the back-seat side windows are still quite large, as opposed to the tiny angular glass on some similar vehicles. Wheels are simple spoked arrangements that dont pack in snow or mud, fender flares keep them trimmed without adding excessive width, and privacy glass is used on upper trim levels.

From a lower vantage point you will also notice that approach and departure angles, which indicate how steep an object or incline you can tackle without body contact, are both very good. Perhaps even more important, departure angle is almost the same as approach, so if you get the front over theres a good chance the back will go over clean as well. Urban dwellers with high curbs will appreciate this because of U-turn ability.

An Appearance package that adds side steps and textured fender flares is offered for XSport models, but we submit since the Grand Vitara doesnt tower over you that no step is needed, and that a few rock scrapes or hunks of mud will far better provide the appearance that you use your 4WD.

From the rear the Grand Vitara takes styling cues from its big brother, the Suzuki XL7, and squares it off to promote more cargo area, easier loading, and less snow-scraping off the rear glass. The Grand Vitara slightly resembles the Toyota RAV4 but comes across as more purpose-styled. Placing the rear tire low on the cargo door doesnt interfere with rear visibility, frees space inside and means you wont have to lie on the muddy, wet or snow-covered ground to reach the spare nor load the dead dirty tire in the cargo area.

In back, the license plate holder that hangs down will be the first thing scraped on trail adventures but it is expendable and wont keep you from driving home.

The Grand Vitara is not based on a front-wheel-drive car like most small SUVs, and has a hybrid unibody with a ladder frame like a truck underneath it. This adds a bit of weight but the payoffs in strength are worth it for serious use; we parked one on two opposite wheels with the remaining two hanging in mid-air and could still open and close the doors and cargo door with normal effort.

ENGINE
Formerly available with a four-cylinder or V-6 engine, the Grand Vitara now comes only with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder. Rear-wheel drive is standard and available with a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. Full-time single-mode or four-mode four-wheel-drive systems are available, both only with the automatic. The four-mode system includes 4H, 4H Lock (slippery), 4L Lock and Neutral positions and has a limited-slip center differential. The Neutral position allows for flat towing behind recreational vehicles. Mechanical features include:

    166-horsepower, 2.4-liter inline-four-cylinder with 162 pounds-feet of torque
Five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission
    Fully independent suspension
    3,000-pound towing capacity
    Rear disc brakes

SAFETY
The 2011 Suzuki Grand Vitaras standard safety features include stability control, traction control, antilock disc brakes, full-length side curtain airbags and front-seat side-impact airbags. In Edmunds brake testing, the Grand Vitara needed only 110 feet to stop from 60 mph -- extraordinary performance for this type of vehicle.

The Grand Vitara has not been rated using the governments new, more strenuous 2011 crash testing procedures. Its 2010 ratings (which arent comparable to 2011 tests) saw it earning four stars (out of five) in frontal-impact protection for both driver and passenger. Side-impact tests resulted in a perfect five-star rating for both front and rear occupants. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded the Grand Vitara its highest rating of "Good" in the frontal-offset test and the second-highest rating of "Acceptable" in the side test.

Mahindra SsangYong Rexton review

The Rexton is SsangYongs first offering in India after being taken over by Mahindra. Does it pack in enough to put up a good fight?

Mahindra & Mahindra’s acquisition of the Korean Ssangyong brand paved the way for the Indian car manufacturer to further strengthen its position in the SUV segment. And while last year’s launch of the well-received XUV500 marked Mahindra’s first premium SUV offering, M&M has now introduced the Ssangyong Rexton premium SUV to take things up a notch. The Rexton, in a nutshell, is a big, body-on-frame SUV that will compete with the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and Ford Endeavour.
For an SUV that is both longer and wider than the already large Toyota Fortuner, the Rexton lacks the road presence that even the marginally smaller Pajero Sport has in spades. That’s down to the facelifted Rexton’s sloping bonnet, gently peeled-back headlamps and curvy grille, which lend the front a certain softness.
Despite that, however, the car manages to look a whole lot better than the model it replaces and the overall styling, especially at the front, is quite contemporary. That chrome-rich grille gives the front plenty of flash, the headlamps with their projector pods are smartly detailed, and those heavily flared wheel arches give the design much needed muscle. Further back, the wraparound rear windscreen looks quite neat and injects much flair to the tail section.
Open the Rexton’s doors and you will find that the cabin looks plush, everything appears solidly put together, and the leather seats with their soft cushioning and smart stitching are really inviting too. Panel fit is excellent and the soft-touch plastics on the dashboard-top feel like they’re from an expensive German saloon.
The Rexton also comes loaded with features like a touchscreen interface for the audio system, DVD player, Bluetooth telephony, satellite navigation, sunroof, climate control, rear parking sensors, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control and steering-mounted audio controls.
However, it’s when we move to the back that the Rexton’s cabin loses some points. For starters, the slightly low-set seats and high floor compromise the seating posture to some extent, though it’s still better than an Endeavour. The cabin also isn’t as roomy as the large exteriors lead you to believe.
As for the last row of seats, the less said the better. You sit virtually on the floor with your knees pointing towards your chin, and with no headrests for these seats, your neck is left unsupported too. If there’s some consolation, it’s that the rearmost section gets a pair of air-con vents with their own blower speed control.
The Rexton comes with a 2.7-litre, in-line five-cylinder DOHC turbo-diesel motor, with the option of five-speed manual and five-speed auto transmissions. Curiously, the engine is tuned differently for the two gearboxes, so as a manual it produces 162bhp and 34.7kgm of power and torque, respectively, while in the automatic it produces a far more substantial 184bhp and 41kgm. The automatic variant also comes with permanent all-wheel drive, and this allows the Rexton to get off to a clean start and post a quick 0-100kph time of 10.92 seconds.
However, the engine makes quite a racket, one that gets progressively louder as the revs rise. The nine-blade radiator fan is responsible for most of this. Then there’s the slow-witted automatic gearbox that takes much away from the driving experience. You can change gears manually via buttons on the steering wheel, or alternatively, a switch on the gear lever.
While the Rexton Auto’s 11.18kpl ARAI-tested figure makes it quite the diesel-guzzler, its power delivery is nice and linear, and for relaxed driving in the city or on the highway, the engine should cope well enough.
Weighing in at around two tonnes the Rexton is just as heavy as its body-on-frame contemporaries. Its suspension, which is a combination of double wishbones in the front and coil springs and a live axle at the rear, is also similar to what you’ll find on the Fortuner and Pajero Sport. Driving around Mahindra’s test track, we found the Rexton too softly sprung to derive any pleasure out of driving it with enthusiasm. However, the high-profile 235/75 R16 tyres do absorb a lot of the road shock and, in that sense, work admirably to shield you from smaller surface blemishes.
Mahindra’s new flagship, then, is a bit of a mixed bag. On one hand, it’s smart looking, well-built, comes loaded with features and has a cabin that’s premium enough to give it a serious edge over its rivals. On the flipside, the noisy engine, slow auto gearbox, bumpy ride and mediocre handling all take away from its appeal. Tipping the scales back in its favour, however, is the fact that Mahindra has launched it at a killer price. At Rs 19.67 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai), the Rexton Auto is a few thousand more expensive than the Endeavour 4x2 Auto and a full Rs 2 lakh cheaper than the Fortuner Auto. The lesser-equipped manual Rexton is an even more appealing proposition, with a price of Rs 17.67 lakh, which makes it the most affordable SUV in this class, by far. At these prices, buyers are likely to gloss over the Rexton’s not-so-good aspects and think of it more as a value buy. Mahindra has successfully played on the VFM card before, so there’s no denying the Rexton’s potential to strike a chord with Indian buyers.

2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek Review Price Interior Exterior Engine

Specification image modification exterior interior price review 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek

welcome to Neonista.blogspot.com website that provides a variety of information about the latest cars in the world. and this time we will share information about the 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek, the following information

For years, Europeans have ridiculed American buyers for their SUV addiction, but small-SUV sales are booming on the Continent right now. The new XV Crosstrek was conceived as a way for Subaru to capitalize on the trend, its tidy dimensions making it ideal for tight European roads. When U.S. dealers saw the XV, though, they loved it and convinced Subaru brass that it would be a hit with young urban families stateside. Here, it will be known as the XV Crosstrek.

Jesse James has called the Teutuls of Orange County Choppers fame “cake decorators,” alleging that their products are just flashy eye candy and not true customs. He might level the same barb at the XV’s engineers, as the model is really just a lifted Impreza hatchback with new bumpers, some fender cladding, and unique wheels. That’s the same basic formula Subaru followed to create the Impreza-based Outback Sport.

2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek Price :

Subaru has announced pricing for its new 2013 XV Crosstrek. The quasi crossover starts at $21,995 for the Premium trim, while a Limited model carries an MSRP of $24,495 (*not including a destination charge of $795). The XV Crosstrek is essentially a high water Impreza five door with a little extra cladding and ground clearance. Listed at 8.7 inches to be exact, the ground clearance is a healthy three inches greater than the standard Impreza.

The 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek, the latest addition to the Japanese automaker’s all-wheel-drive crossover stable, starts at $22,790, including a $795 destination charge, according to Subaru.com. The XV Crosstrek is slated to arrive in showrooms in the fall. The top of the line 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek 2.0i Limited starts at $25,290, including shipping.

2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek Interior :
The Subaru XV Crosstrek comes standard with a six-speaker stereo that features a USB port, auxiliary input and Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity. Options include a navigation system and power moonroof, while the higher Limited trim adds automatic climate control and a backup camera standard. Few reviewers have commented on the 2013 XV Crosstrek’s interior features. However, many say that its interior is basically the same as the Subaru Impreza’s. One test driver compliments the XV Crosstrek for its straightforward climate and stereo controls, while another mentions the stereo’s excellent sound quality.

2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek Exterior :
Here’s where the 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek is a “different” Subaru. A great deal of attention was paid to the exterior design of the XV Crosstrek, and I commend Subaru on their efforts. While it’s not a complete departure from the Subaru line (as the BRZ seems to be) it’s different enough to turn heads and the right heads.

Targeted at Gen Y buyers (and those who are also considering the MINI Cooper Countryman and Nissan Juke), the XV Crosstrek is a woodsman in ubranite attire. Sleeker than an Outback and beefier than an Impreza, the XV Crosstrek strikes a pleasant balance between off roader and city dweller. It’s fancy without being impractical, and functional without being brutish. High wheel wells, a 220 mm ground clearance and practical roof rails mean this Subaru can pretty much go anywhere, and look good while it does as long as it’s not sitting on those horribly angular, flower y rims.

The 2.0i Limited adds automatic headlights, automatic climate control, leather upholstery, the rearview camera and the same six-speaker audio system found on the Premium but with the addition of a 4.3-inch LCD display. The sunroof and a navigation system (with satellite radio) are also available for the 2.0i Limited.

2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek Engine :
Although three trim levels are available on the XV Crosstrek (Touring, Sport Package and Limited Package), the engine will remain the same throughout: the 2.0L BOXER four cylinder that produces 148 hp and 145 lb-ft of torque. Two transmissions are also available: a 5 speed manual and an updated, much improved CVT that comes with standard equipped paddle shifters on the steering wheel (thank you Subaru for that one).

Starting at $22,790 including delivery, the XV Crosstrek lets customers choose a smaller crossover experience that boasts 8.7 inces of ground clearance, which is three more than its Impreza platform donor. The car will also get a stiffer suspension, though the same 2.0 liter Boxer engine as the Impreza still sits under the hood with 148 hp and 145 lb-ft of torque.

Set to arrive on the U.S. market this fall, the car could stand to rival several larger crossovers like the Mazda CX-5. Yet the car isn’t quite a crossover, as is the case with much of the automaker’s lineup. Realistically, the car is a replacement for what the Outback used to be, though with significantly more ground clearance. For example, the third generation Outback (built from 2998 to 2003) sat 7.3 inches above the road except for the L.L. Bean package which got an extra half inch.
